A service upgrade increases the amount of power your home can draw in the first place. Homes built for 60 or 100 amps were never meant to run an EV charger, a heat pump, a hot tub, and a finished basement at the same time. We replace the service conductors, mast, and meter base, coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with the utility, and bring the whole service up to 200 amps under an ESA permit.

Most service upgrades happen because something new is coming: an EV charger installation, a workshop, a legal apartment. Since the service and the panel are two halves of the same system, doing both in one visit saves duplicated labour, which is exactly the saving our Bundle & Save pricing passes on. How do I know if I need a service upgrade or just a panel change?
The load calculation decides it. If the incoming service has the capacity and only the equipment is outdated, a panel change is enough. If the service itself is 60 or 100 amps and your plans exceed it, the service is upgraded too. We quote both scenarios clearly so you are not paying for capacity you do not need.
Do you deal with the utility for the disconnect?
Yes. We coordinate the disconnect and reconnect window with the local utility as part of the job, along with the ESA permit and inspection.
How long does a service upgrade take?
The physical work is usually one day, with power restored the same day in most cases. Scheduling the utility window and ESA inspection adds calendar time around it, which we manage for you.
Is 200 amps overkill for my home?
For a home planning an EV charger, air conditioning, and any future addition, 200 amps is the modern standard and the small incremental cost over 100 amps is usually worth it. If your load calculation genuinely does not justify it, we will tell you that too.
Can I bundle a service upgrade with a panel change and EV charger?
