Two generations of top-notch electrical construction service.
Expert, reliable, friendly electricians at your service since 1973.

The original Highland Electric van, Georgetown, 1970s. “Workmanship at its best.”
- 1973
Highland Electric opens
John Murray’s father starts wiring Georgetown homes and businesses under the Highland Electric name, industrial, commercial, and residential from day one.
- 1992
The name catches up with the work
After two decades as Georgetown’s electrician, the shop becomes Georgetown Electric. Same phone habits, same standards, clearer name.
- 2013
The second generation takes over
John, who apprenticed under his father and worked beside him until his retirement, takes ownership. Master Electrician, RSE, and still the person who quotes your job.
- Today
The modern grid arrives at home
EV chargers, 200 amp services, heat pumps, and smart homes are rewriting what a home needs. The shop’s answer is the same as ever: size it right, wire it properly, inspect everything.
John Murray
John specializes in residential and commercial electrical installations: service upgrades, full renovations, new construction, EV charger installations, water heaters, landscape lighting, and the heritage home retrofits this area keeps him busy with. He prides himself on high-quality, safe, honest, reliable, punctual, and friendly service, and answers his own email.
Every electrician on our jobs is licensed, insured, and trained, and every job follows the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. When a panel change or permit-required install wraps up, the ESA certificate lands in your records, not a drawer at the shop.
