Generac Standby Generator Installation
Automatic backup power for the whole home, installed by a Generac Certified Installer.
A standby generator waits on its pad until the power fails, then starts itself, moves the home onto backup power, and moves it back when the grid returns. Nobody has to be home and nothing has to be plugged in. John is a Generac Certified Installer, and every install starts with the same discipline as the rest of our work: a load calculation that decides what size unit your home actually needs, before you spend a dollar on hardware.
We handle the electrical side end to end: placement to Generac clearances, the automatic transfer switch, the wiring into your panel, and the ESA permit. The fuel connection, natural gas in town or propane on rural properties, is completed by a licensed gas contractor, and we coordinate the two trades so the project lands as one job instead of two. If your panel or service is due anyway, the transfer switch install is the natural moment to deal with it, and we quote the panel change or service upgrade alongside.
What's included
- Load calculation and sizing guidance before you order, so the unit matches what you want backed up
- Placement and clearances to Generac requirements and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Automatic transfer switch installation, whole-home or essential circuits
- Load management configuration where the electrical service is smaller than the wish list
- Dedicated wiring between the generator, the transfer switch, and your panel
- Coordination with a licensed gas contractor on the natural gas or propane connection
- Commissioning and a full transfer test before we call it done
- ESA permit pulled and inspection coordinated end to end
How the job runs
- 1Sizing visit
John walks the property, runs the load calculation, and confirms what size Generac fits what you want backed up, whole home or just the essentials.
- 2Quote & coordination
One quote for the electrical scope: placement, transfer switch, wiring, permit. You order the unit, and we line up the licensed gas contractor for the fuel side.
- 3Install day
Generator set and wired, transfer switch in, panel integration done. The gas contractor completes the fuel connection and the unit is commissioned.
- 4Transfer test & ESA
We simulate an outage and watch the generator pick up the home before we leave. ESA inspects the electrical work and the certificate goes in your records.
Generac Standby Generator Installation is available across Georgetown, Acton, Milton, and the rest of our service area.
