EV Charger Installation

A Level 2 charger draws 30 to 50 amps continuously, which is more new load than most homes have taken on since the day they were built. Every install starts with the same question: can your electrical service actually carry it. John does the load calculation first, installs the dedicated 240V circuit, mounts and commissions the charger, and pulls the ESA permit so the work is on the record for your insurer.

If the math says your service is at capacity, that is not a dead end. Most homes that need more room pair the charger with a panel change or a full 200 amp service upgrade, and bundling that work into one visit is exactly what our Bundle & Save offer is for. We install and also sell chargers, so if you have not picked hardware yet we can quote the charger and the circuit together.

Do I need to upgrade my panel before installing an EV charger?
Sometimes. A Level 2 charger adds a large continuous load, and older 60 or 100 amp services are often already close to capacity. The load calculation on the first visit answers it definitively. If an upgrade is needed, we quote the charger install and the panel change together, and the Bundle & Save pricing applies.
Can you supply the charger too, or do I have to buy it first?
Either way works. We sell EV chargers and can recommend a unit suited to your vehicle and panel capacity, or we install a charger you already own.
How long does a home EV charger installation take?
Most single-family installs are finished in one visit. Long runs from the panel to a detached garage, or outdoor trenched runs, can add time. We confirm the schedule when we quote.
Do you handle the ESA permit?
Always. EV charger circuits require an ESA permit in Ontario, and every install we do is pulled under ECRA/ESA licence 7003287. You receive the inspection certificate for your records and your insurer.
Do you install commercial and workplace chargers?
Yes. We install charging for workplaces, condos, fleets, and retail locations, including Level 3 equipment where the electrical service supports it, and we coordinate payment and load management systems as part of the project.
